Pay Attention To

  CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL

– Coarse thread is recommended for using with timber.

– Fine thread is recommended for using with metal. Fine thread can also be used for timber.

– Hi-Lo thread is recommended for using in low density materials such as plastics, wood, masonite and particle board.

  THREADED HOLE AND NUTS

– Metric thread fixings usually need pre-threaded holes or nuts. Depending on the fixings point, some fixings can cut thread for themselves and don’t need pre-threaded holes.

Common Screw Threads

Coarse Thread

 Recommended for using with timber.

When treading is lightly damaged, they still work effectively

  Single thread

Fine Thread

Recommended for using with metal.

Also can be used for timber.

Hi-Lo Thread

Recommended for using in low density materials such as plastics, wood, masonite and particle board.

Double lead.

Screw has a smaller minor diameter than a conventional screw.

 Increased pull-out strength

Reduces installed material cracking and splitting

Metrical Thread

 Fine and precise threading.

 Needs pre-threaded hole or nuts.

If nuts are needed, use with nuts of same finish and threading

Pre-threaded holes must be made in solid materials like steel.
